Happy Birthday Tams...

So, for Tammy's 30th birthday enjoyment, I thought we could post a few memories of her...any of your favorites will do. I'll start. Tams (and someone who shall not be named) babysat our kiddies for us so we could go to Palm Springs for the weekend. Malia was a tiny baby so they had the other three. When we got home, our house was like 98 degrees inside because the AC had stopped working. Picture this folks...three wild children all weekend long in an oven. Thanks Tammy for doing that. When we got back, they were out of there before we could even say goodbye, but I totally understoodl...Turns out, all we had to do was stick one battery in the thermostat and everything was fine...On my birthday right after Bella was born, Tams showed up with a lovely birthday present for me AND she took the kids for a couple hours out somewhere for me. A little peace and quiet on your birthday when you have young children is probably the greatest gift anyone could give you. I think my absolute favorite memories of Tammy are her throwing herself agains mom and dad's front door to make me laugh when I was in the middle of a breakdown. You can't help but laugh at the sight of her doing that, plus the doors shaking afterwards. He he. And, everyone else tackling, dog piling Tammy, the designated tackling dummy. It's a wonder she still likes football...Okay, now your turn. Ready, go.

Seriously, I am not sure where to start. Tammy, Tams, Slammy, Grabs, Grab-diggidy, Tam-o-rama-ding-dong...should I stop?
Tams was always great to have around in school. I would know, due to past priorities, I had the opportunity to repeat classes and as a result I shared quite a few with my little sister. Who can forget graphing calculator baseball in Trig? If I am not mistaken over Tammy's head was a triple. Or catching a nap after lunch in Ms. Stevens class. Awe, Yoda's voice was so soothing.
I can't forget having an inside reporter on the cheerleading squad. Tams tipped me off to the fact that the soon to be named prom queen had just broken up with her boy friend. Yep, I wasn't above that either, I filled in graciously and took her to prom. Only to be sent packing when they got back together the next week. But hey, Tams hooked me up with the prom queen.
Most recently Tamadam have hooked us up with babysitting too many times to count. We all know how sweet a few hours away from chaos is.
HBD Tams.

Wow. Isn't this a great tradition? Giving props to all our siblings and our parents on their birthdays? I bet it's so much fun reading the memories everyone has of you... wouldn't know since I'm the ONLY ONE who didn't get a birthday post. At least I know where I stand in the family. Pretty sad that even Brett, who doesn't even read the freakin blog gets paid tribute on his birthday.

Anyways, I wont take up more space on this blog. I'll just supercurl and save room in the back of the station wagon. By the way Tammy, you stepped on a worm on the way to school today and when I throw a slurpee over the wall of the wash... that means I don't want it. Come on Mrs. Tarzinsky, let's do a cheer for Tammy on her birthday. "GOOOOOOOOO BLUE! GOOOOOOOO BLUE!" And Tammy, I don't want you to forget what happens at Stake Dances... Sex! (According to your padre).

Ericka, it's not funny, now we have to drive home sideways. Are you married with a kid? Don't worry, more will come to me.

Thanks for being the best father to Mackenzie, and for walking the halls with her in the middle of the night once I went back to work.
We'll always have Christopher Plummer... wanna dance? I think we should watch Hope Floats again. I know a skunk named Justin that could probably use killing : )

Hmmm. Where to start. I think Tammy's new nickname should be glue. That's right, glue. I sometimes have kicked around the idea of what it would be like being the middle child. I usually kick it right out of my head before too long. Anyway, what does that have to do with glue? I don't know. I'm old. I'm bald. My brain is going, so shut up already. So glue. Well, I think she does a really good job of being a liaison between the various siblings and the extended family. She talks to Grandma Opal, the relatives in Arizona, etc. I think she also is a really good listener. She also helps me hold it together during particularly "fun" experiences. Plus, she has some pretty cool nicknames, as noted by Justin.

Justin did forget Rubber ducky, and the song that goes with it.

Tams, thanks for being one of the original Lisonbees that I met, and the double dates, and listening to "the promise" on eternal repeat for 5 hours straight, roadtripping to Denver and having our 1st day snowboarding together, and now, for all the Celiac advice and weekend entertainment! Happy BIG 30--welcome to the old club!

Um correction Michelle, that was me who threw myself against the door. I know we look like twinners but we're actually two different people.

Tamms, thanks for being the sister who was willing to not only listen to my incoherent rambling as a child but pretend you were interested. Who am I kidding, that didn't stop after childhood so thanks for still doing it today. Thanks for being there for my freshman year of college and helping me to embrace this lovely state of Utah. Thanks for celebrating St. Patricks day with me, some orange soda and lime green rice crispy treats. Thanks for letting me sleep over when I wanted to escape my apartment and for skipping a manditory meeting to order Thai food with me. Thanks for appreciating Felicity as much as I do. Thanks for always reminding me about other people's birthdays, next year maybe you could remind me about yours... Thanks for having an adorable baby that I can cuddle and for sending me adorable pictures of her to brighten my day. Thanks for being my twin. I could go on but I'll stop where I'm at. Suffice it to say that you've gone above and beyond your role as my big sister these past (almost) 21 years. Unfortunately for you though, you've set the standard and now I'll be expecting the same over-achiever treatment for the rest of our lives.

seriously it is hard to know where to start - with you sitting in the pans in the kitchen, with you playing baseball , or making the varsity tennis team as a freshman, or maybe with the years you cheered, with or without a broken foot. You managed to be one of the famous 5 older kids as well as the leader of the younger 4 . you were amazingly determined once you set your mind to something - law school being one example - . I cant tell you how grateful I am that you found Adam and that together you have your home and family and all the things that make life worthwhile. You have been richly blessed and I am so thrilled for you. I love you

When Tammy was two years old she would usually be playing out front when the car pool dropped me off. They would wait until Tammy saw me so they could see her do her routine. She would smile, jump up and down, spin around, clap her hands, throw her arms into the air and run towards me. she sure knew how to make coming home from work an experience to remember, day after day and the car pool looked forward to her greeting as much as I did.
then there was our vacation in Monro when Grandma Opal worked at the snack bar. Tammy would sit behindthecounter and say "I needs it." That meant she wanted another soft serve ice cream cone.
Needles to say she made out like abandit on that activity and I certainly enjoyed watching her eat most of the cone before it dripped all over.
