Hap diddley appy birthdee, Peedo!

Ah, Justin! Justin, Justin, Justin. Where to start. Justin is so the life of the party. Wherever Justin is, fun follows. Somehow jokes that aren't funny are funny when he's around. Impersonations I've seen hundreds of times only get funnier each time I've seen them. It's a gift.

As Easter has just come and gone, I had occasion to relive a certain incident involving a doll's bonnet and plastic Easter eggs. What a classic moment in our lives. I also had occasion to relive a certain incident with the Nova and the Hanrion's street. Yes, he is spaztastic, but that's part of his charm, isn't it?

So Happy Birthday Justin. The man who punched a kid in the nose to save my Glow Worm in nursery. The man who threatened to flush my cabbage patch kid down the toilet if I told on him. He who is the reason I am still afraid of plastic snakes. The reason I got an A in Trig but simultaneously the reason I served my only detention in high school. That same man who laid under Adam's car at our wedding reception to tie cans to the undercarriage and later hid himself with Carter in the back seat so he could shock us when we drove away from the reception. What a riot. As brothers go, I couldn't be more blessed. Have a sup-iddley uper dee. We love you.

To Jellystone, General Fats, the kid whose eye I threw a paper airplane into from about 2 inches away as a kid and said it was an "accident", the kid who pitched the fated block that inexplicably flew through the bonus room window and may or may not have been the attempted victim of the infamous phrase "He pitched it..." when dad came roaring into the room to see what in the world just happened, the kid who made me completely immune to earthquakes by the headbanging that went on on my bunkbed nightly ...

I have to start by saying "You da man!" Justin is one of my idols. Excellent athlete! (He may or may not get into extra curricular activities on occasion when playing - i.e., FIGHTING, but let's not let little things like that bother us.)

I have had a front row seat to see what a great husband he is to Katie and what a great father he is to his kids. He is also a great uncle. Brandon can hardly wait to go over there to have lightsaber battles.

He is also a great brother in so many ways. Very genuine. Great listener. Willing to help like nobody's business (exhibit A - helping put together my nightmare trampoline and net that took a solid 3 or 4 or more hours).

I'm very blessed to have him as a LITTLE brother!!! I love being able to say that. I was always taller growing up. I still am, as long as I'm on a ladder.

Happy birthday Justin! I called to talk to you and Ashley answered the phone. What an interesting conversation that was...Anyway, I can't wait to see you soon. I can't wait for you to rough up my boys. When we were at Disneyland last time, we were doing re-enactments of you running into the trash can and coming up swinging. There may or may not have been people staring at us in unbelief. And, do you remember all those fabulous Utard trips on your birthday? Isn't it great that the Coach went ahead and sealed the deal on your birthday? Ahhh, the memories. Now stop messing around and get a job in Fresno where you will be appreciated for your antics. Happy birthday!

You the man. Happy days in Texas. I'll never forget when a kid from elementry school was threatening to beat me up after school and you and Mark Wright roller bladded from Saugus after school to get there in time. The kid never showed. Thanks!!!

Plus, who can forget you, Matty, Brett and I all playing football in the street against Jeff Cherry and Shawan and their friends. Especially, the 2-on-2 game where Justin and I smoked them like 72-0 and then they quit.

Happy birthday from So.Cal

Justin is my sanity. Life around here would be pretty dull without him. He helps me laugh at the kids instead of scream at them, he helps keep things around the house nice, he single handedly keeps the garage and the yard in good order. He regularly lets me escape to get a break. He has built himself a great career from hard work and determination: after Erac turned down his first application--idiots. Nobody works harder than Justin.

On top of all of this he has a firm and immovable testimony, and tries to always do the right thing. I sit around and wonder sometimes how I managed to snag him. Happy Birthday.

I'm a JERK!!! I forgot your birthday-- I mean I forgot to call you on your birthday and I didn't even realize it until I was writing the date today and saw it was the 27th!! Where does the time go?

I was packing last week and sorting through old pics I had in a scrapbook and you know which one I found right? Bonnet, easter egg in mouth, orange living room carpet-- you got it. Probably the greatest all time Easter memory.

I miss having you close by to torment my kid and scare her with stories of killer squirrels in the tree. I miss your kids and your wife. It was so fun sitting around your house last September and just telling stories and catching up... and laughing so hard we were practically crying.

I am so proud of you and all you've accomplished. Happy Belated Birthday from a loser in Cali.

Sorry for graduating on your birthday. The good news is you're probably the only person I actually managed to call onyour birthday. Too bad you didn't answer the phone! I'll forgive you when I see you the next time and you do the olympic speed walking impression for me again :) Love ya J, I wish I were in Dallas playing with you and your fun family!

PS Sorry this is so late...I need to keep up on the blog.
