Vacation anyone?
Hey people...Katie sent everybody an e-mail about a summer vacation for next year. We really racked our brains searching for somewhere "in the middle" and Flagstaff was about as central as we could get. It will be a drive for ALL of us, but I think it will be so fun. Anyway, let's keep in mind the padres will probably be going on a mission in the fall which means this would be our last vacation with them for awhile...so if there's any way everyone can make it, it would be fabulous. However...we need a definite yes or no. We will have to put a deposit down (each of us) and we have to do it within the next week or so to get a spot. That is a hot vacation time and there is only one resort (we're using Katie's mom's vacation rental membership). So, when you reply, just give a definite yes or no so we can make the reservation. I know it's hard to plan ahead...we were working around the three school schedules we knew (Mackenzie, Edwardsons and Colorado Lisonbees...). The last week of June or first week of July is all that fit. So, I hope everyone can come. I think it's so important for us to get together at least once a year and it's looking more and more like Christmas won't be possible any more...so we're waiting to hear...

Well, as you ladies know, our lawyer lives are not really our own so I can't make any guaranties. We're all over the idea and we'll put down a deposit and do our best to get there. Anyone want to share with us? I don't know how big these places are but it seems silly for us two to just have a place to ourselves. We might feel a bit isolated since the purpose is to get together.
P.S. Whoever ends up thinking they want to share with us just might end up with a place all their own if we end up not being able to make it.
I neglected to mention that I appreciate you guys coming up with this idea. It sounds like a blast.
How much is the deposit? If I read the message right, the deposit needs to be paid by next week?
The trip sounds like a lot of fun.

We're trying to figure things out here - who knew two people could be so complicated! What we DO know is that Matt has school throughout both weeks and I'll (hopefully) be back at work part-time so like Tammy says, we seem to never have control (especially when we're trying to make up for being out for, um, 10 months). Do we know how much the deposit is and how much the place is going to cost for each of us? I'm assuming that even if we have to bail after our deposit, we'll still have to pay our part (so that no one gets dumped on), right? Or can we cancel after the deposit and NOT make a mess for the rest of you? We are just not sure when we'll know how nice Matt's professors will be, etc. SO, do we have any more details?! We'd hate to miss it.

As usual, Mackenzie will probably be able to make it. As usual, her mom probably will not. Rumor has it I have to take another class next summer. Summer session begins the last week of June as always. I won't know for sure until I get my course sequence for the Winter, and that won't be til December. Have I ever told you how disorganized UCLA is??
