You'll rue the day, Trebek!!!

Happy birthday Marky! You guys, click on this picure and you'll see that this is out very own Mokey with his feet in Sean Connery's foot prints!* Is that not perfect?!?!

I miss Marky most when a UCLA game is on. It is impossible to be as fun as Mark is to watch games with. I miss getting up early on Saturday mornings to watch college game day and hearing "Every man, woman and child" which tipped me off that it was time to start 8-clap.

Mark is the only one who would put up with me during the week of AP tests and cheer try outs. He and I went on "non-dates" every Valentines Day for years and had the best time ever. He went on stallion road trip after stallion road trip with me, to San Francisco, Provo for General Conference and then our all time stallion road trip of the 26 hour trip to Provo and back where Mark drove all night so I could get up to Provo in time to interview for my job right after my mission and still get back in time for my regular work week.

He helped me detox after my mission and talked me down from doing comp study every day, went on countless memorable (and not in a good way) double dates, let me be the permanent third wheel with him while he and Carrie were dating (remember Saturday night "pre-PEC's" at Dorris' where we'd discuss how to get ourselves released?) and now lets me crash his pad when I come to visit. So, to the man who started sibling photos like this at weddings, we love you Mark. Hope you have the happiest birthday ever.

**The rest of the pics from the weekend of Kristin's wedding will be posted after appropriate homage has been paid to Marky!

Hap, hap, happy birthday Mark. In honor of your birthday, rick and I will go out and celebrate by watching the new Adam Sandler movie. How's that sound?

Really, there is no one on this earth who has a more pure heart and genuinely "good" soul than Markie. I think everyone knows that he's got your back...Mark has been the most supportive and kind brother anyone could ask for. I absolutely adore little Aurora because she reminds me of Mark. She has that little sparkle in her eye just like he did at that age. I hope you have a great birthday. I miss watching UCLA games with Mark too...it really is a whole different experience when mark is around. He even had Grandma Opal doing the 8 Clap!!!!!

Oh Marky Larky had a dog named Barkey... Mark is a great big brother to everyone, despite the fact he only is one of the "younger kids." My favorite recent big brother Mark moment is when he found out I "broke up" with a guy I was dating and he called me to check up on me and give me the -your too good for him, you'll find your prince charming- pep talk. It was a much needed and much appreciated phone call :) Thanks Marky.

Mark,

Happy Birthday! If anyone ever had a heart of gold it is Mark. I started to write a bunch of different things. I could go on for quite some time about him. For now, I'll keep it to two words: Alarm clock. You know, the digital one I got when I was in high school. Okay, two more words: Tank top (with a duck on an inner tube).

Mark, you da man. HBD.

Happy Birthday Mark. You are building a legend that will be told for many years. With classic moments like quickly turning around every time that Dad would get you back for a cheap shot that you previously laid on him so that you could claim that he's coming from behind. Or while Dad has you pinned down, you somehow slide one hand out just enough to deliver a him a pathetic swat to his hind end.
I seriously think you might me the most quoted sibling in our house. We miss you and hope you have a Happy Birthday.

Marky,

The single lady dance you did right before getting on the plane for your mission lives on in my memory, and my scrapbook. I shudder a little when I look at it! You are so much fun and a great person to have on your side, so energetically loyal. Happy Birthday!

You all are too kind. I am laughing histarically as I relive my past. I love the family and feel very lucky to be related to you all. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

By the way, dad and I had all-you-can-eat Saturday at Dodger Stadium. We combined for 5 hot dogs, 4 nachos, 10 soft drinks, peanuts, and popcorn. By the way, we beat the CUBS. GO DODGERS!!!

mark, I am the biggest loser ever for not posting sooner. I actually have been thinking for a week about what I was going to post because yours is one of the few I actually remember, I am on my way to bed right now, so i dont want to post some quick little post, but I will post a real comment tomorrow about some that I have thought of over the past couple days. So until tomorrow...you can live in suspense...

So as I was thinking over the last week what I could say about Mark, there was one consistent theme. I have a lot of memories to draw on with Mark. How many times did I have to watch Sam Bowie and Vlade and Jerome x2 (Kersy & Edwards) suck up the place for the Lakers while Mark and I watched them lose the the worst teams in the league. I dont want to think about it. Mark is the great big brother that was always there for me even when I was not always great about thanking him. The first memories that came to my mind were one Saturday when I had a soccer game and mom and dad were not around. As a young kid, soccer was everything to me. You only get so many games a year. The game was at Saugus High School and I knew that was way too far for me to do on my own. I was not even sure how to get there. Then Mark came to the rescue. He told me to get on my bike and follow him. So then we were going along and as we were crossing the bridge from the Centurion building to get to Saugus, his bike tire exploded. Then, he turned to me and said just go to your game I will figure out what to do. The funny thing is, I have no idea what happened in that all important game or how we even got home. The actions leading up to the game are so strongly in my memory. There are so many things about Mark that this demonstrates. First, his willingness to help any of us without even thinking about himself. I have no idea what his Saturday plans were, but whatever they were, he dropped them to help me out. (Thats definitely not the only time he has done that.) Then, he took the lead and I just had to follow. He showed me the way. There are a lot more things that I could have learned if it werent for my pride. And then when the tire exploded, his first concern was me getting to the game. He is always thinking about others. So Mark, even though it is a little late, I hope you had a very Happy Birthday. You are a great brother and a great example to all of us.
