I know your lives are exciting...now why don't you post about them? Here's my excitement for the day. Today for after school snack, while the kids were getting their stuff out to do homework and looking for something to eat, I stood in the kitchen eating jicima dipped in cottage cheese that I had mixed ranch dip mix into. Carter, my pickiest eater came over and wanted to try some. He did and he liked it. Then malia, my next pickiest did the same. Before I knew it, it was standing room only around the vegetables and cottage cheese. I love it when my tricks work...i.e., eating something in front of them rather than offering them some.
My second bit of excitement...my bell peppers are growing. I have like two or three that are about the size of a pea right now. Love it!

Maybe we aren't posting because our lives are in such chaos that we don't even know where to start...or it could just be me.
The kids and I are living with my Mom, and trying not to wear out our welcome because we'll be here for 2 1/2 more weeks. It's hard to clean up after the kids here too, and every time my Mom picks up after them I feel guilty.
Justin is in Dallas burning the candle at both ends.
Emma, Nate and I fly to Dallas Wednesday, May 14th. We close the house with Justin Thursday morning, and then he leaves and we're on our own for the first nights in our new house. But don't worry, I'm not stressed about that at all. Or about receiving the delivery of all our stuff all by myself. But I exaggerate--Nate and Emma will be there.
Camille and Bash will fly out Saturday with my Mom and my sister Mary, which is when the fun should start. They will help me get settled in some and decorate.
I don't even want to report about what time we've all been going to bed, whether Nate sleeps at night, what kind of crap we eat, and how we're all getting along, because I'm treading water right now and I don't have the energy for that stuff.
Anybody else?
Kate, no worries on the delivery day of all your stuff... I'll be there that day to help "check mark" the boxes as they come in. (Justin mentioned tonight that you're gonna be stuck all by yourself.) Anyway, I figured I could just bring the girls and they can play with Emma and Nate while I check the code thingy on the boxes and while you tell them where everything goes. Does that sound ok? I'd love to help in any way. Moving is stressful.
Michele, what is Jicima? Sounds interesting.
First off, shout to michelle's peppers! That's gotta feel good! I want to see pictures of the little beauties!
Second, Kate, I think that limbo time where you're packed up but can't move in might be the worst form of torture that is still legal.
The good news is, and I'm speaking from experience here, there is no better help than Steph when you are moving in. I still would be in boxes, on old carpet, with unpainted walls if Steph weren't here in Dallas. Seriously, she is tireless, the girls are just as patient as can be and she as moved enough times you can take it to the bank that her advice about that is ALWAYS good. So, at least you have that to look forward to!
I'm around too if you need me! And I'm excellent at volunteering Adam to carry heavy stuff. :)
I'm good at babysitting (translated sleeping) while Steph is doing all the real work with moving. I'll back Tammy on that.
Kate...that was a fabulous post. I've been wondering what you've been up to. Just be grateful you don't have to move you, your stuff and all four kids to an apartment for three months and then move the troops and all your stuff into your house. It was loads of fun. Especially since the weather was 95 in June and like 110 in August when we moved. Good times.
P.S. Steph...Jicima is a root. It looks like a big brown thing. It tastes kind of like a cross between a cucumber and an apple...if you can picture that. It's delicious. I love it.
I used to eat Jicima in Mexico with lime and hot sauce. It is very refreshing on a hot day.
